Field guide: Construction & delivery

Can we deliver safely, on time and on budget?

Overview · What & why

A decision, before a calculation.

Construction is a controlled sequence of work, inspections and decisions. A forecast combines what has been paid, what is committed and what is still expected. A change order is not simply an invoice: first establish entitlement, scope, quantities and time impact. Safety, quality and contractual obligations remain binding even when budget pressure increases.

A concrete example

The authorized site work begins. Excavators grade the platform, crews install below-ground services, and the team controls runoff and protects the retained buffer. Foundations start to trace the future data halls. Early work is inspected before later construction covers it.

What to remember

The next stage relies on updated cost and schedule forecast, while related workstreams may continue in parallel.
